Greetings, TRSU families, staff, and friends!  My name is Michele Farrar.  I am thrilled to be the  the new English Language Arts teacher at Green Mountain Union High School.   A native of Rhode Island, I received my BA in English from The College of the Holy Cross, in 1996, and my MAT in Secondary Education (with an English concentration) from Rhode Island College, in 2000.

Immediately after graduate school, I left Rhode Island for the mountains of Vermont.  I began my full-time teaching career in Hartford, VT, and have since had the opportunity to teach in many of Vermont’s diverse suburban and rural communities.  In my eight years of practice, with a dash of good humor and an undercurrent of rigor, I have worked to engage students in meaningful activities that help foster creativity, curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a natural love of learning.  I remain in awe of the enthusiasm and potential of my students.

I currently live in Andover, VT, with my children, Maya and Aiden.  We love to cook, garden, hike, and travel together, when we are not running in a million directions with local sports and school activities.  I look to this year with eager anticipation and a sense of thanks for the opportunity to teach in the community I live and love.  Cheers to a new year and new beginnings!
